He's an old man in his late eighties, smokes a lot, is racist, excluded from his family for not supporting their mixed-race marriages, and has been in the hospital. He's in the middle of a dilapidated house with graffiti all over the walls, he's talking about how his kids haven't spoken to him in over a decade because he wasn't in favor of them marrying another ethnicity. It didn't seem phased at all about it. I think the fact that he is old and has an old mentality and old school way of thinking makes him not support his children. Since he is a racist and doesn't actually support his kids, he deserves to not talk to him. No one who is racist deserves any kind of contact and racism, regardless of age, should not be supported. One is an old racist and the other could be considered a bad father. They don't try to rise above it or make any real effort.
