Topic > Essay on Technology Transfer Process - 872

The process of technology transfer is not just limited to buying and selling. It consists of multifaceted phases. The technology transfer process is a process of researching technological developments in the world, choosing an appropriate technology for a company, planning transfer methods, and monitoring the technology and improvement (Austin 1990). The technology transfer operation involves three main phases which are pre-installation, installation and post-commissioning. (Small and Yasin, 2003). The pre-installation phase recognizes technology requirements, identifies suitable technology for a particular business with in-depth analysis, plans the use of the chosen technology and evaluates how technology providers can meet them. In order not to achieve poor results in the technology transfer process, companies should pay attention to the first pre-installation phase. (Udo and Ehie, 1996) (Primrose, 1991). The second installation phase concerns the adaptation of the new technology to the company which includes the integration of the new technology, adaptation to the company's own needs, necessary adjustments and other changes. the third phase called post-commissioning phase concerns the impacts and effects of the new technology which involves the evaluation of existing conditions and the measurement of company performance. (Udo and Ehie, 1996) (Primrose, 1991). According to research, the summary of the technology transfer process has been established and illustrated in Figure 9. The key stages are highlighted clearly. The first phase of the TOT is to analyze the needs and calculate the priorities accordingly. As for the decision point whether to carry out the process or not, the project is aimed at an installer and then... middle of paper...
