Topic > Experiences with Georgia Athletic Hospitality - 2494

My experience serving with Georgia Athletic Hospitality has been helpful in my pursuit of a career in sports management. Through this internship I learned more about what I want to do and I also learned which paths I no longer want to follow. I am grateful for the experiences I have had. The internship also helped me learn how to better manage a fast-paced environment. I was able to network with valuable contacts and form relationships that will help me in my future. Georgia Athletic Hospitality is a unique and structured organization. I will go into more detail using a SWOT analysis to show the overall position of the company. I will also analyze my position within the company and my experience through this internship. Finally, I want to reflect on my thoughts on the practicum and what I plan to take away from this experience. The organization I work for is Georgia Athletic Hospitality (GAH). The Colonnade Group, a sports production and event management company based in Birmingham, Alabama, operates the GAH office. GAH manages the management and operation of courtside seating and hospitality at the Sanford Stadium SkySuites, Champion's Club, SkyClub and Stegeman Coliseum for basketball and men's gymnastics. It relies on the help of student ambassadors, who interact directly with guests. GAH's mission is to provide the best possible gaming experience to premium seat holders at the University of Georgia. GAH's organization is simple and streamlined, which makes communication easy and efficient. We start from the lowest level, which are the student ambassadors. This is the work I currently do. From there are the hall captains, who are also students. They tend to be... in the center of the paper... s. I am grateful to everyone I met during this internship and I am especially grateful to have had Bethany as a boss. I have even greater respect for the hospitality industry and look forward to learning more about the world of sports as a whole. This experience served me well in my senior year, and the lessons I learned here will serve me well in my career. I hope to one day become an Athletic Director or General Manager. I will probably have to interact with people in the hospitality industry and it will be much easier to understand what they need to be successful and how I can help them. Now my mission is to continue with my experience and learn as much as I can about different careers in sport and how it all intertwines. I will continue to strive for greatness and be the best friend and worker I can be.
