The 20th century was the period between January 1, 1901 and December 31, 2000. What was the new wave of immigration that occurred in the United States at the end of the 20th century? Migration flows in the United States resemble waves, with the number of immigrants increasing to higher peaks or waves, and then the numbers falling downward are lower peaks. The fourth major wave of immigration to the United States began in 1965. Immigration began to increase starting in the early 1980s. Many Americans wanted the government to reduce the number of immigrants allowed into the United States. Some Americans felt that jobs were being taken away from them and given to immigrants for more economic hardship, causing people to lose their jobs or become harder to find work. The U.S. Immigration Commission said 2.4 million unauthorized Mexican aliens entered the United States between the 1980s and 2000. Expired work and school visas from Europe, Asia and other countries have also allowed unauthorized aliens to remain in the United States. What effect has this had on food and the culinary world in the United States? Immigration changes society, the way we live and the introduction of different types of cuisine. Although most international food has been somewhat Americanized to suit our tastes, while others remain authentic. Chefs and cooks had to learn different cooking styles and uses of different meats and poultry. The uses of vegetables, spices and herbs from those regions that perhaps they had never used before. What equipment has provided easy access in the restaurant industry for these new culinary trends? I could have said Henny Penny Fryer's, other products and Candy Ovens, but I'm going in a different direction and most likely I... middle of paper... faster where the money is coming from and tactical decisions can be made faster and more safely. Computerized systems identify actual food and beverage expenses much faster than systems that do not use computer technology and save time in accounting and food and beverage management. The time and money saved in accounting processes can be invested in staff training or improving products and services.
