Topic > The use of conventional cigarettes and e-cigarettes

Instead of using conventional cigarettes, many smokers today use e-cigarettes for long-term smoking cessation. In fact, no one knows whether this device is effective or not. However, e-cigarettes are very dangerous and the nicotine contained in e-liquids is a poison that can kill both children and adults, toxicologists at Poison Control Centers have warned. “A dangerous new form of a powerful stimulant is hitting markets nationwide, for sale by the vial, gallon and even the barrel.” (Richtel 1) As we can see, e-cigarettes are available almost everywhere and bottles of e-liquid have been sold exponentially in recent years. Therefore, the use of e-cigarettes is one of the most serious public health problems in many countries around the world. Unlike conventional cigarettes, e-cigarettes, known as battery-powered devices, work in a heated e-liquid mode. E-liquids are e-cigarette liquids that contain the addictive nicotine, the drug extracted from tobacco and dyed with a cocktail of flavors, dyes and assorted chemicals to fuel the rapidly growing e-cigarette industry. (Richtel 1) Additionally, while the nicotine in cigarettes comes from the tobacco plant, it is separated from plastic and other cancer-causing plant materials. More than 4,000 harmful impurities are filtered into e-liquids, including 60 carcinogenic substances. Despite filtering out some harmful chemicals, nicotine in e-liquids is still an addictive substance, like cocaine. Plus, it still contains carcinogens and links to heart disease and cancer. Smokers love to use e-cigarettes more than conventional cigarettes because of the private smoking, fl...... middle of paper ..... . which has an effect on children but also on animals and non-smokers who have already understood enough. “These concentrated products are significantly toxic in very small quantities,” Ashley Webb, director of the Kentucky Regional Poison Center, said in the statement. When it comes to concentrated liquid nicotine, the danger is not only ingestion but simple contact with the skin." (Koch 1). Therefore, people must be very careful when coming into contact with these liquids. In conclusion, e-cigarettes are just the era of new battery-powered addiction devices that have fewer carcinogens than conventional cigarettes, but are still killing people. Smokers must not have believed his advertising. The measure to quit smoking and also to stop the opening of a new tobacco market is their correct awareness in this serious device.
