Design research questionHow does the concentration of copper II sulphate solution affect its transparency? Basic Information Copper is a transition metal, and a unique property of transition metals is to create different types of colored compounds. Copper(II) sulfate, also known as cupric sulfate or copper sulfate, is the chemical compound with the chemical formula CuSO4. It exists as a white gray salt fed in anhydrous form, however the salt most commonly encountered in the laboratory is pentahydrate or (CuSO4·5H2O) is bright blue in powder form. In my experiment I used this bright blue powder by dissolving the powder in water leading to an exothermic reaction to create a complex water [Cu(H2O)6]2. HypothesisIn this experiment the concentration of the copper II sulfate solution is varied to determine its effects on transparency. These concentrations will be obtained from dilutions of 1 mole of the supplied copper II sulfate solution. When this happens the transparency can be recorded by the calorimeter which will actually show how the dilution occurs...
