Operation Beautiful is the pride and joy of the student council at Plano Senior High School. Hours and hours of reflection led them to the conclusion that to celebrate inner beauty you need to remove all the extremities that girls apply to their faces every morning, more commonly known as makeup. On the day of Operation Belle, all girls who want to participate in the celebrations will have to arrive at school without artificial or even natural products on their faces. As for me, I completely agree with the concept, after all, you often have to take one step back to be able to take two steps forward. We shouldn't rely on makeup to make us look prettier than natural. The idea comes to me from the most beautiful planet in our solar system. The Earth itself! Our Earth is covered with beautiful, pristine forests, rolling hills and snow-capped mountains. And people should be expected to emulate the same purity and naturalness. While I agree with the creators of OB I have to say I'm disappointed in their short term mentality. Ever since I could understand words in my brain, my father told me to look at the bigger picture. So why is OB only one day? I firmly believe that we should remove unnatural beauty from the world by resorting to a natural and not-so-beautiful world every single day of the year instead of in the miserable twenty-four hours. But one genre is not enough. Why does OB only affect girls? Like BO, OB should be adequately distributed across different genres. I propose that the gentleman be involved in the OB in some way because otherwise the festival would create a feeling of insecurity among both the men and women of Plano Senior High School. But makeup is not enough. Why is OB only about makeup? Makeup is the only artificial object... middle of paper... a day when Plano High School students are united. Finally, I have heard from many students that Operation Beautiful should be canceled because the festival forces all of us to be conscious of our appearance, even though the main purpose of OB is to feel comfortable in your natural skin. I, for one, completely disagree with the previous statement because the reason we feel so uncomfortable in our natural state is because we were given clothes and makeup to cover up our naturalness. We should strive to eliminate all synthetic means from our lives and live as our ancestors did thousands of years ago. To the creators of Operation Beautiful I say that OB is not making enough of a difference in our school. The question still remains. Why should people be able to use what we have to look attractive instead of letting nature take its course??
