Both have different reasons why a person may become a vampire, such as unnatural death, birth defects, or conceiving on certain days. Romanian legend gave rise to the belief that being bitten by a vampire would doom one to become a vampire after death. Both Slavic and Romanian myths believe that, with the advent of a vampire, there would be the death of the vampire's livestock and family members. The preferred way to kill a vampire in these two myths is to drive a stake through its heart, decapitate it, and, if necessary, dismember it. Slavic and Romanian vampire myths gave rise to the most popular worldview of vampires. Interest in vampires extends beyond that of adults. Both children are afraid of vampires but want to know more. They've heard of one of the most famous vampires of all time, Dracula, and may even have dressed up as him for Halloween. They may even have said, “I have come to suck your blood.” But do they really know what all this means? We really know what it is?
