I have experienced firsthand the generalizations people make about certain cultures. Being part of an Asian culture, I have often been associated with being an "academic eccentric" or a "nerd with no social and communication skills." But in all reality, I was often lazy in doing homework and went out with my friends quite often. I have often been frustrated by generalizations made about me by my culture, and I have realized that it is important that these generalizations do not apply to all members of a group. It may be true that our Asian culture performs better academically as a whole than other cultures, but I think it's important for everyone to realize that these generalizations don't define everyone in the culture
