There are many elements to take into consideration when making a film. Some elements are more important than others. For example, if there was no camera, obviously there would be no film. But we must not forget even the smallest elements that make up a film. Elements such as title sequence, poster, text movement, etc. Having a poster for your film is a means of advertising. The goal of the poster is ultimately to "sell" the advertised film. Usually the name of the movie will be in big bold letters, so you can't miss it. Next there will be intriguing images of the actors or events from the film. They portray the mood and tone through the designs, colors and fonts on the posters. Also included on the poster is a catchy tagline, names of famous actors, and write-ups of the film. All these aspects are used to create desire in the intended target audience. Many posters can give people an intense feeling of anticipation and excitement, as well as convey powerful messages. The visual elements of a film poster can have a persuasive effect and attract the viewer's attention and then sell the film. Harry Potter posters are the ones that usually catch my attention, this one in particular. The font is the same one used in every film, title sequence and poster. This is important because it creates a connection between all the films in the series. It is an imperfect font as not all letters are on the same level. This gives the audience the feeling of imperfection, just like Harry's life. The main color in this poster is dark blue. It gives us a sense of the evil and darkness that Harry Potter revolves around. The font color is like a golden color. This could be to glorify the... center of the card... constant, repetitive music. This allowed the editing to fit well with the music to make it more haunting to watch and listen to. It's pretty clear that poster and title sequences are very important, if not vital, to the success of a film. Author Not Mentioned, 2012 Media Analysis: Movie Poster. Class area.
