In the first semester I took Sports Medicine and Anatomy and Physiology. Both courses expanded my knowledge of the body and made me understand how interesting its mechanisms are. It was before midterm that I knew for sure that I wanted to be a physical therapist. One factor about PT that interests me is that while they all have the same basic structure, everyone is different. No two patients are the same and therefore each injury is slightly different. The days might have similar bases, like similar types of injuries, but I might help a number of different types of people who need a variety of treatments. This is why for me PT is both challenging and interesting. I will never do the exact same thing twice with a patient. Another aspect of PT that I enjoy is helping people. Although working with injured patients can be physically and mentally taxing, it is very fulfilling to know that you are helping them by returning to the daily activities of their lives. By doing this, I feel that you are helping a patient become themselves again, which is very rewarding. If I can use knowledge of human anatomy and its functions to help people, then I feel like I can give back
