First of all, there are random letters and philosophical questions from an unknown source. After discovering that the man behind the questions is Alberto Knox, more problems continue to arise. The postcards for Hilde continue to arrive and she is more and more confused. Then after many teachings and such Alberto says that they live in the mind of Albert Knag, Hilde's father. Then it changes and now it's Hilde's point of view. He receives the book Sophie's World from his father for his birthday. Albert Knag is teaching philosophy to his daughter. Then Alberto and Sophie leave Albert's mind and enter their world. The trick is that they cannot be seen by other people. Sophie wants to figure out how to access Hilde's world. Oh, how ironic. Gaarder asks, “What kind of truths can these be?” (364). I think it fits well with the whole novel. It's about finding the truth and seeing
