The author's culture was filled with neglect of women's needs by denying them the necessary education that would ensure women could handle important roles such as the birth of a child effectively (Cernovich, Np). Shelley's mother died due to an infection that developed during childbirth. Arthur Schopenhauer's essay On Women (1851), although controversial, echoes Shelley's sentiments and speaks of women as delicate beings who need to be handled with care. The author invites us to take a critical look at the woman and what we see is a being who should not be subjected to any form of "great work" be it "of the mind or of the body" (Cernovich, Np). Women pay life's debts through the suffering they endure and the pain that comes with pregnancy. The spark that defines his existence should be more delicate, silent and insignificant than that of man, without being ultimately happier or more unhappy. Therefore, I intend to achieve a different perception of women in our society. They should no longer be considered inferior or discriminated against, but should be given a similar competitive platform
