Clayton L KornmanMs. IngramEnglish 1114 May 2014Following the Development of the CobraAs we delved deeper into information about our nation's military the interesting topic of the AH-1 Cobra emerged. The Cobra impressed me so much that I now feel the need to explain how great this machine is for our country. The sources that provided the best information were primarily government websites. The information found ranged from system specifications to available ammunition to which countries have a contract with Bell Inc. and can use their product with their militaries. There will be a presentation of the packages that the AH-1 Cobra comes with, the evolution of the Super Cobra, how our military uses these magnificent machines and what they are capable of. The birth of the AH-1 Cobra took place in the Vietnam War era of the 1960s (writer). He provided and managed several rescue operations for our boys at the front. In the Cobra system the pilot sits behind the weapons officer on a raised seat. Flight and weapons controls are doubled for the pilot and weapons officer. If unfortunately the pilot is killed, weapons officers can usually take control of the helicopter and bring it home. Standard Cobras drive a 2-bladed main rotor and a 2-bladed rear tail rotor (Writer). When the first generation Cobras started to become obsolete, several changes and improvements were implemented to keep the Cobra system at the top of the game (Writer). As improvements were made, the tail rotor was attached to a rear tail fin to improve stability. One improvement particularly helped the Cobra's operational range with external fuel tanks. These improvements were made to the Cobra... in the center of the card... along with the AH-1Z-King Cobra (Writer). The King Cobra was developed with the hopeful intent of creating an aircraft capable of withstanding all weather conditions. Two prototypes of the King Cobra with different engines were produced in order to analyze economics and possibilities. Unfortunately for the King Cobra the perfect balance has not yet been found. With the acceleration of technology, we are bound to find the perfect mix in time (Writer). With technology having come this far, from the Cobra to the Supercobra, modern armies have their new weapon of choice. We currently use these extraordinary machines in combat ranging from the dead of night to the heat of the front line. We can truly rely on the development of the AH-1 because of all the lives it has saved and all those to come. The AH-1 will continue to serve our nation and keep our troops safe in every time of need.
