The following innovations are some of the concrete products produced by CEMEX for more sustainable buildings.^([1])Insulating concrete forms to keep heat out in hot climates and to retain it in cold climates. A study conducted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) shows that using this type of concrete instead of code-compliant wood-frame construction can produce operational energy savings of 20%.^([1])Self-compacting concrete which improves the strength, durability and life of a structure and reduces maintenance costs over the life of the structure. Free-draining concrete that helps prevent skidding on wet roads. Quick-setting concrete that contains up to 80% fly ash and produces carbon. Antibacterial concrete that controls the growth of bacteria and helps maintain clean environments in facilities such as hospitals and laboratories.
