Topic > As Maslow's theory of human needs explains...

Maslow's model of what the five basic needs are for human beings to progress, as described by Urwiler, RN (2008) are physiological needs, needs of security, social needs, self-esteem - esteem needs and self-realization needs. Once an individual lacks any of the basic physiological needs for survival such as “oxygen, food, water and heat”, the behavior changes. “If one or more of these basic needs are lost, a person's priority immediately shifts to satisfying the missing need” (p.83). Maslow, A.H. (1948) also found that satisfying these needs could also address other conflicts in society. Humans need food, water, clothing and shelter to survive. To explain Abraham Maslow's theory, one can imagine a pyramid graph as also imagined by Berl, R.L., Williamson, N.C., and Powell, T. (1984). As the needs of human beings are met and the development of the individual reaches its highest levels, conflict and behavior problems decrease. Information technology is a necessary tool for creating, sharing and using information for various reasons. Our banks are connected to computers and money is sent electronically when we directly deposit our checks. People who work full time and can't attend college can now take college courses online to further their education. We also have the ability to obtain or find the resources and services necessary to meet our basic needs. To obtain and maintain these basic needs, an individual should have employment to satisfy these needs. As the company progresses, the hiring process will be done only by computer, and the selection process for hiring will no longer be based on face-to-face interaction, but based on the level of education and experience. Perhaps then equal opportunities will be possible. However, minorities are still incapacitated… middle of paper… in my community, at work, with my family and friends. In my professional life, I will try to improve and find ways to avoid conflicts through interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. As a supervisor or manager, I will keep in mind the needs of both staff and customers to provide all that my resources can provide. A model workplace and positive reinforcement for a job well done will be implemented with my staff. I will look at how my action as a reaction. Online writing, reading, and sharing courses at Bryant and Stratton College have helped me understand that everyone learns and communicates differently. The textbook Think Sociology by (Carl, 2011) also gave me a better understanding of these conflicts that occur in society. Most importantly, ways to better understand what is needed to function in society.
