Topic > Person you admire: a reflection on the philosophy of Heraclitus

I have met some philosophers who have given me inspiration in life to fight or move forward. I've read about some philosophies that have made valid points and their philosophies make sense if you really think about it. There are philosophies that can really encourage us to do more and sometimes it opens our eyes to realize that there is more to life and that life should be seen in other ways. In this example of a descriptive essay about a person you admire, I shared my admiration for the philosopher Heraclitus and his philosophy, especially his quote "Nothing in life is permanent, nor can it be, for the very nature of existence is change." 'Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? Get an original essay I really admire Heraclitus and his philosophy; it gave me goosebumps while reading one of his philosophies. He said, “Nothing in life is permanent, nor can it be, for the very nature of existence is change.” I thought about it a lot sometimes, and as you can see, it really is like that in life. It means you can't have complete control of things over a person, it changes every time and it doesn't stop there. I totally agree with this because it is slowly showing itself in my life. Nothing in life is really permanent, even if we take really good care of it or you handle it really well, that doesn't change the fact that the item you take care of will never be destroyed or what. His other quote that says 'A lot of learning does not mean understanding' is also very striking for me, as a student I am constantly learning many things but that doesn't mean I understand it all, I just have the information, it's just like life that doesn't really mean that you understand everything you learn, it really takes time to fully understand something and you have to study a lot about it. Philosophy is interesting in many ways. It gives us wisdom and knowledge through reading quotes from people. I have only recently encountered philosophy in my life. It took my interest, or my interest peaked in the topic. The experiences I am encountering now are really complicated, but by reading and understanding all kinds of philosophies provided, I understood what they were saying now, it gives us information and knowledge that I was looking for as a young student curious about life. Tackling the topic of "Philosophy" makes me reflect on life and everything else. I know there are many philosophers, but Heraclitus made me look at the world of philosophy twice, and as a student I am starting to apply all the knowledge I have learned from this topic and will continue to discover and learn more about this. The philosopher who gave me an informative quote and made my eyes widen into the world of philosophy is none other than Heraclitus. His philosophies were interesting and I can really think more about what he said. It was truly a revelation for me. I firmly believe in his quote "Nothing in life is permanent, nor can it be, for the very nature of existence is change." because without realizing this quote, you cannot love people like your parents in this life. You need to learn to appreciate and support your family or something that is important to you so that you don't regret it if it leaves. It may be difficult, but that's how life is, that's how it should be. We just have to learn everything in this life.
