In the United States from the early 1990s through the 2000s, the rate of teen pregnancy declined tremendously. Although the United States has seen a decline in teen births, it still leads all countries in teen pregnancy rates, at 52.1 per 1,000 of the age group of the female population, according to 2013 statistics. between 15 and 19 years (HTP, 2013). Where countries like Canada have a particularly low rate of teenage pregnancy, where on average 20.2 out of 1000 teenagers become pregnant before reaching the age of 21. The teen pregnancy prevention plan will consist of the following topics such as sex education, teen abstinence, and open parent-child relationship. Teenage abstinence is the ideal way for teens to protect themselves from becoming teen parents. Abstinence is when a person or people pledge against something like acholo, porn or gambling, adolescent abstinence is a pledge not to involve parents in any sexual conduct until marriage. Abstinence is 100% preventable if followed correctly and there are no known side effects or dangers in completing abstinence. There are numerous benefits as to why children should practice abstinence and then have sex during adolescence. One is not getting pregnant as a teenager and having your youth taken away because you have a child. Secondly, it allows you to grow and thrive. Having sex too early can scare a person from adolescence into adulthood. Teenage abstinence is good because it develops a stronger marriage. Statistically it has been shown that marriages between people who have practiced abstinence have a lower divorce rate. Sex is not the foundation of marriage, even though it is an essential part of…half of the article…decreasing teen pregnancy. The biggest problem in America is that many children do not receive adequate education about sex and the risk of becoming sexually active as a teenager. It is used by adults to teach young people and show them the disadvantages of becoming a teenage parent. So the solution to gradually prevent teenagers from becoming parents is to communicate and educate because they may not be better, but as adults we do.
