Harry Potter faces death in a very different way in the final book than most normal people. Harry has faced death his entire life because his parents were murdered by Lord Voldemort when he was just a young boy. The people who are important to Harry slowly die because of who he is. He is “the boy who lived”. There was a prophecy created by a professor at Hogwarts, a school of witchcraft and wizardry, before Harry was born, which said: "He who has the power to defeat the Dark Lord approaches.... Born to those who have it challenged three times, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have a power that the Dark Lord does not know... and one of them will have to die at the hands of the other because no one of the two can live while the other survives the power to defeat the Dark Lord will be born at the end of the seventh month..." This prophecy states that a boy capable of defeating Lord Voldemort would be born, but it does not guarantee that this will happen and that Voldemort would searched for this boy and "mark him as an equal."
