States: “In the factory, the human part almost always acts as a link, as an additional “link”, grafted between any number of machines. Containing vital organs and appendages, the factory of Capital follows a framework of distorted, but nevertheless corporeal, metaphors that qualify it as a monstrous amalgam of body and machine” (Ketabgian 22). In the factory the body is no longer isolated or alone, but is inserted into the machine with which it operates. When the body becomes part of the machine and operates with mechanical functions, the boundary between man and machine becomes increasingly blurred. You end up with a gigantic organism in which bodies and machines operate as prostheses relative to each other. This idea of growing into whole bodies or giant organisms can be seen in Pacific Rim. There are two individuals occupying a brain space called drift and through this individuals can share subjectivity and connect with the machine called Jaeger. The Jaeger becomes a prosthesis that supports the abilities of these individuals. These two humans and machines unite under one identity. The Jaeger is also connected to the command center, which is a collection of individuals who use technology to inform the Jaeger; they all work together to achieve a final goal, creating a mechanical/organic interphase. None work independently, but they are all under the Marshall's hierarchy. So we no longer focus just on one character but on the whole
