When Juliet arrives Romeo tells her to describe her love but Juliet states that her love is indescribable. The couple is then officially married by Friar Laurence. While two relatives of the Montague family are walking, Benvolio and Mercutio, they meet Tybalt and other members of the Capulet family. Romeo then appears and Tybalt attempts to provoke Romeo into fighting, but Romeo refuses because he is married to Juliet and now related to Tybalt. Enraged by Romeo's refusal to fight, Mercutio fights Tybalt and is killed. After the death of his relative, Romeo becomes angry and fights and kills Tybalt. The enraged prince also exiles Romeo from Verona and, if seen in the city, Romeo will be killed. The nurse returns with the news that Romeo has killed Tybalt and has been exiled from Verona. Juliet, although saddened by Tybalt's death, is devastated by the exile of her love, Romeo. The nurse gives Juliet hope by telling her that she knows where Romeo is hiding and that she will let him consummate their marriage that same night. Juliet gives the nurse a ring to give to Romeo to remind him of her love. Romeo is informed by Friar Laurence of his exile from Verona. Romeo says that banishment is the worst thing that could happen as he is now forbidden to see Juliet. Then the nurse appears and tells Romeo that he must be ready to attend to Juliet later in the evening and that he must leave the city of Verona first
