Our brain processing information for our body to react and our body reacting to this is a perfect example of how energy works. We would not be able to live without the energy used in our daily lives. Refrigerate food, turn on the light, heat the stove, walk to school, drive the car, etc. All of these activities require some form of energy. First, potential energy is useful because everything has dormant energy in its composition or energy gained from increasing vertical distance. Furthermore, thermal energy is a form of kinetic energy that is measured in temperature. This is useful for identifying and reacting to hot and cold temperatures and manipulating each of these to help us. Electricity, the force of electrical charge, can help humanity through its ability to power light bulbs and technology. Technology is a source of entertainment, social interaction and information. Light bulbs allow us to illuminate the region we are in. Finally, gravitational energy is the force between two objects with a distance exerted by each object. This can be used to assist with hydropower and gravity. Hydroelectric power comes from waterfalls that use gravity to power the energy transferred into electricity. Since gravity is constantly exerted, we can use it to enable many different activities such as acceleration due to gravity or gravity allowing us to stay on earth and not float away.
