Chris McCandless left a legacy and a lesson after dying while hiking in the brutal Alaskan wilderness. Some people say he is a hero and left a good message to the spirits who yearn for freedom and peace with nature. But others believe he is not a hero at all; but in reality, a stupid kid with no sense of gratitude and a plan for failure. I think Chris not only failed to perform any heroic actions, but also had anti-heroic qualities and beliefs. McCandless is not a hero because he ran away and disappointed friends and family by blindly setting out into danger without any plan or preparation.
