The warrior of the western pediment appears to be more comical due to the fact that he is actually facing the viewer and has a more artificial appearance. Information from “Art through the Ages Fourteenth Edition” states that the dying warrior of the eastern pediment has a more “natural” posture, shows a “new self-awareness, and is not facing the viewer because he is dealing with his terrible pain. This artwork is from the western pediment of the Temple of Aphaia, Aegina, Greece, ca. 490 BC He is also made of marble and is a little shorter than the other warrior, being only 5'2' long. Furthermore, both sculptures of the Fallen Warrior are currently located (or should I rather say lay) in the Glyptothek,
