I have discovered many new specific aspects of his work that will better prepare me for this field. Sasha, for example, highlighted the value of interdisciplinary courses such as marketing and advertising. I hadn't thought about taking these courses in the past, but after learning that they are worth it and give me an extra edge during my job search, I will probably consider them more seriously. Likewise, I had never considered how crucial communication skills can be in a graphic design work environment. I knew that designers often create things that communicate with their audiences, but I was ignorant of their communication with colleagues and other departments in the company. With Sasha's help, I now understand that graphic designers must be extremely effective at listening, speaking and expressing their ideas, skills that I will hone before entering this professional field. Another useful piece of information I got from this interview was the Questionnaire, which helps a designer understand a client's needs, and the Proposal, which details ways a designer can benefit the company. Since these documents are new to me, I will learn more about them and possibly apply something similar when I start my design career. With these new insights, my journey to becoming a graphic designer is now much more focused and pushed in the right direction
