My weight is currently unhealthy by health standards and qualifies me as obese. Obesity is defined as an individual having a high amount of extra body weight, which does not come from muscle and bone, but rather from excess fat. Being obese puts you at a higher risk of developing weight-related health problems, such as high blood pressure, heart disease, and some forms of cancer (“Assessing Your Weight,” 2015).
