When you look at the world, you can see the many problems found in the world. One problem that still persists in the world is genocide. Genocide has always existed. Germany and Rwanda are one of the many countries that have had cases of genocide. In Germany there had been the Holocaust and in Rwanda there had been a rivalry between two tribes. Like genocide, another serious problem still encountered in the world is poverty. Currently, Algeria is one of the many countries facing the problem of poverty due to its recent independence movement from France. In rural areas, one can see a solution to this problem is to make alliances with many rich countries so that constant trade can provide resources and money to Algeria. Algeria had broken its chains from France in 1962 (Jones 11). Since the independence movement, internal conflict has occurred, which also refers to the worsening of poverty and unemployment in rural areas of Algeria. (“Rural poverty in…” 4). Over the years, Algeria has slowly developed a state of poverty. The causes of poverty in Algeria are the recent movement for independence from France, constant drought and lack of income (Jones 11; “Rural Poverty in…” 4). Since its independence movement, Algeria has sought to publicly address the problem by sending Mourad Medelci to Britain in 2012. Mourad Medelci was minister of foreign affairs. He is currently not in office due to old age, but has worked to help Algeria out of poverty (“Algerian FM Visits UK” 1; “Mourad Medelci on…” 1). By understanding how Algeria became poor, a solution can be formulated on how to bring or help Algeria out of poverty. Algeria is still working to become a nation its citizens can be proud of. Foreign ministers, such as Mourad Medici, exemplify such action to help his nation become greater. Poverty in Algeria is not an issue to avoid and hide. The fact that poverty has arisen in Algeria is a big problem. The countries of the world are all connected in some way, be they rivals or allies. In any case, poverty in Algeria can impact both allies and rivals, so countries and people need to be aware of this issue. Students can be influenced by observing and learning about the poverty of not only Algeria but other nations so that they can become a generation capable of solving and preventing similar problems from occurring.
