We are all important Sometimes it is very common that people forget how important we are to society. It seems like all we care about is no one but ourselves. What we do, how much money we earn, our self-image, seem more important than anything else. One thing I have learned, and which I consider an important value in life, is not to underestimate people. We are all important, no matter what we do. Housekeepers, teachers, and even waste collectors have as important a job as any surgeon, architect, and lawyer. Imagine if the street cleaner decided to go on strike, or even if the teachers wanted to stop teaching. What would be the outcome of their sudden decision? It is simply unimaginable to expect such erratic behavior due to a lack of appreciation for one's work. Our lives would be in tremendous chaos. Nowadays, people tend to forget how much we really need each other. Think how wonderful it would be if we all knew how to recognize and appreciate each other more. As Frank A. Clark said: “Everyone tries to accomplish something big, without realizing that life is made up of little things.” Sometimes the little things we do can really make a difference in someone's life. Doctors, nurses, accountants, bankers, these are just titles. Just because a doctor has studied for more than six years, does not mean that his job is more important than that of an accountant or that of a banker. Sometimes the simplest things are the ones that matter the most. The lack of understanding in our society is what stops us from achieving greater things in life. Encouragement is a great tool to help you achieve your goals. A career would be considered an achievement within the “American Dream.” Everyone has their own purpose in life, goals and ambitions that make everyone unique. The tasks presented to us may sometimes be considered insignificant, but our source of encouragement is what helps us tackle them. Wisdom is a virtue that many want and very few possess. Our inability to succeed is due to the selfishness so alive among us. Negativity sometimes allows people throughout our society to come in fourth place in their careers. Maybe it's just me, but our comments seem to be very powerful towards someone's opinion.
