The Bircher definition states that health is "a dynamic state of well-being characterized by physical and mental potential, meeting the needs of a life commensurate with age, culture and personal responsibility." Likewise with Seneca the Younger's statement, both definitions identify that one's health is measured by more than the presence of disease.
