Major religions include shamanism/ancestor reverence, Confucianism, Taoism, Mahayana Buddhism, and idol worship. These five religions share some characteristics in common. For example, Chinese folk religion focuses on human being's pursuit of health, wealth, and happiness in their lives (Corduan, 2012). Chinese folk religions want human beings to be comfortable and successful in their daily lives. Another key component of Chinese religions is respect for elders.
