This is one of the many reasons why Paiva recommended dropping the "e" from "e-learning", because if we don't we will be in a world of pain. This is the problem with technology in education; it is often seen as the answer to all our problems. While there are numerous ways that technology has helped improve the way things can be taught, such as advances that have allowed blind students to gain a better education, it often comes with a downfall. Kids find new and easier ways to cheat every day, which lowers the standard to which people hold their morals. Jennifer Erickson underlined how important some ethical behaviors are; responsibility, integrity and people's rights. When people stop caring about how others think of them, they can become mean and not care if they hurt other people's feelings. This is where cyberbullying comes in. There are so many great ways that technology can improve how we learn, especially for smaller schools like my old high school, where DDN Campus is the only way to take most of the classes required for graduation. , we just need to be willing to receive education on how to use technology appropriately. Without such knowledge, future technology will lead to an even wider variety of ethical issues in education. Ask yourself; Do you want to be able to use technology properly? Would you like to continue seeing the incredible advancements and differences that technology can make in education? If so, all it takes is a few people to show the importance of this problem and together we can make a difference by properly educating students, teachers and other professionals on how they can use technology effectively.
