The Olympic Games are the main international sporting events in today's society. The Olympics incorporate winter and summer sports, which see thousands of athletes from around the world, competing for coveted gold, silver and bronze medals. The Olympic Games in modern society involve the participation of more than 200 countries, which send representatives in various sports activities. The sporting event takes place after four years in different host countries across the continent. Baron Pierre de Coubertin played a significant role in the founding of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in the year 1894. The Olympic Games in today's society are founded on the idea which was supported by the Greeks in the ancient Olympic Games held in Olympia between 8th century and 4th century (Guttmann, 2002).
