With the United States' newfound independence from Great Britain, its founding fathers realized from their historical experiences that it was necessary to develop and establish a bill of law to preserve its newfound independence, while maintaining order. However, the first document drafted by the Founding Fathers, the Articles of Confederation, preserved the country's newfound independence, but did not maintain order. The Articles of Confederation described by many Founding Fathers as a document created to meet the ratification needs of each state, even when the document did not feature accountable democracy.
