Topic > The role of the grandparents in Mulberry Child - 1218

Any person reading this book could easily see these roles throughout the story. Throughout the entire story Nainai has been by Jian's side through good and bad times and has never left Jian's side no matter the circumstance. Even when Jian's parents were taken in and could not be released, she was there to take on the crucial role of being what she needed to be for Jian. This is the normal role for a grandmother in today's world. If Jian hadn't had his grandmother Nainai, his life would have been much worse than it already was. Nainai made her life worth living. A grandmother is supposed to be almost like another parent to someone who is simply theirs to them. They teach you the life lessons you need to survive in the world. They teach you what you need to know and they love you and care about you and want to make a better life for you. A grandmother like Nainai can change a child's life forever and that child can learn so many things from him that will benefit his life.
