He takes the information from his ghost and solves the equation without him. Murph takes the opportunity to actually follow Plan A. Not giving up hope, he challenges the process by considering Plan A. Only this allows humans on Earth to benefit. Murph is not willing to give up on people, and that is what leaders should stand for. He doesn't let his judgments about his father get in the way. Murph lets out her resentment towards him and listens to the clues he gave her. Murph, in my opinion, is the only character who truly encourages the heart. By sharing with the world that her father was her ghost and replicating their home, she was able to give him recognition. Murph knew that he was the reason she could solve the equation, and regardless of what people thought, he would tell them so. Murph never gives up hope that his father will return, and when he does he recognizes that they are both, finally, at peace.
