In the book, the author explained the mirror of honesty, white lie, trust, faint praise, secrets, lies to extremes and of integrity in detail. He explained that most of us are now painfully aware that our trust in government, businesses and many public institutions has been undermined by lies. The author describes that big lies have the power of many of us to instinctively distrust those in positions of authority. As a result, you currently cannot mention anything substantive about global climate change, environmental pollution, human nutrition, politics, foreign conflicts, pharmaceuticals, and dozens of different topics until a significant portion of your audience expresses paralyzing doubts about even the most reputable sources of information. Our public discourse seems permanently riven by conspiracy theories. I agree with the author in many of his opinions. Many of the problems that arise within society, or that are caused by differences in behavior and ethical values, are due to the thoughts of people who cannot think in the place of others while managing the same situation. An obvious example that can be described here is how people make fun of other people and become offensive when vice versa is done by other members of society
