Apple Computer started by creating the easiest to use computer in the world. While they were planning and designing, IBM didn't think it would be a risk, as entrepreneurs would never move from large mainframes to smaller computers. They also thought that consumers would not be interested in a computer used for “home use.” Apple was successful until Microsoft licensed its software to IBM and later to many other companies. This gave them a profit for every computer sold by all the different manufacturers. Companies adopted Microsoft's DOS interface. Meanwhile Steve Jobs was being fired from Apple for treating his employees poorly and not being stable, the company struggled for many years while Microsoft prospered. The world has used Microsoft's interfaces and brought them into everyday applications. It was unheard of to use an Apple in a corporate environment.
