Is democracy the right thing for all nations? No, democracy is not suitable for all nations. Merriam-Webster defines the word democracy as a government of the people, government by the majority, a government in which supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving free and periodic elections. It is a government designed for the choice of people for their rule over themselves and others within their community or even nation over matters political, economic and for the well-being of their survival. A democracy is a great thing that can be perfected with a perfect nation, unfortunately a perfect nation is as difficult to build and achieve as a banana snail climbing the 1,860 steps of the Empire State Building in New York City. Democracy is not the best form of government for all nations. Nations can be divided into two separate categories when it comes to economically balanced countries, first world countries and third world countries. In a first world country, such as the United States of America (democracy), Canada, Great Britain, and much of modern Europe, the country is “successful” in its attempts to survive with profitable results while maintaining its countrymen without famine, widespread disease and poverty by exporting more goods than it imports and having a government system that works for the people through the government that cares for them and has the well-being of the people in mind. In a third world country the economy is underdeveloped and essentially has no choice but to grow in this sense. These countries are poverty stricken, disease ridden, environmentally impoverished and full of wars and violence deep inside themselves, in the middle of paper, people with things that seem unimaginable to them and they will most likely get elected for this just to to be able to win the race with the steroids of lies and deception. Democracy is not a right thing for a nation like this. Our democratic society has reached a level of progress in society, economy and technology where we maintain a standard for even the most basic things, so how can a nation that would like to see a meal value? at McDonalds as the survival of a 5 star dinner under the same democracy we live in? Democracy is a great thing and freedom is not even an issue, but not all nations have the ability to use it, understand it and fully reap its benefits. A democratic nation must have the knowledge to understand its economic problems and their solutions and the strength to maintain a firm grip on itself with the help of its people and, as we know, not all nations are capable of doing this.
