These strengths include the ability to communicate effectively, possess a passion for helping people, good listening skills, understand the needs held by others, and resolve conflicts. However, my weaknesses consist of being too friendly or occasionally being impatient. Being a Christian African American woman, there may be some conflict with potential clients. I may meet clients of different religions, races, sexual orientations and cultures. He or she may see my religion or race as a problem, however I would be determined to help them to the best of my ability, either by consulting a supervisor about steps to take or by transferring them to another social worker. A previous life experience that could potentially influence my work is when I deal with people who abuse or have been abused. Having gone through this, I will have to figure out a way to avoid those personal experiences to provide services to those people
