Bullying has evolved significantly over the years. We have moved from face-to-face bullying to a new form called cyberbullying. Many believe that cyberbullying is much worse than its traditional partner because it can leave a huge psychological impact on the person being bullied. There are many more people reporting being bullied now that cyberbullying has evolved. After conducting a survey of 264 kids from 3 different schools, it was found that about half of them had been victims of bullying and about a quarter of them were victims of cyber bullying. About half of the kids say they know someone who has suffered or is subjected to cyberbullying. Most cyberbullies attack victims multiple times, and for some reason, victims never report it to adults. It was found that males were more likely to be cyberbullies than females, and females were more likely to report to an adult if they were bullied by someone (“Cyberbullying in Schools”). It has become much easier for bullies to cyberbully because of all the technological advancements. With the rapid growth of computers and other technologies, cyberbullying was bound to explode. Bullies can deal crippling blows to someone's psychiatric state of mind simply by using the Internet, and the effects can be everlasting. It is easy for more than one person to bully a single target when they are on the Internet. Cell phones are also a great cause of pain for victims as they cannot delete embarrassing pictures or messages from the phones of others who have received them. ("Mr. Bullproof."). Researchers have been trying to look into cyberbullying to try to find out what the reasoning is behind it and perhaps try to find a way to prevent it. There have been recent studies abo.... .. middle of the paper ......do you open it once you start it?"). At one point bullying was just a problem in the schoolyard. With the progress made by the technology, everything has become easier than before and the Internet audience is endless. Children and teenagers can bully each other through emails and social networking sites like Facebook and many others. Traditional bullies had to be seen as bullying someone, but a cyberbully can do it while sitting behind a computer screen and not even have their identity revealed ("Cyberbullying VS Traditional Bullying.") It would seem that cyberbullying is much worse than traditional bullying because of the emotional effect. that it can leave on victims. With technology advancing rapidly, if we don't find a way to completely stop cyberbullying it will continue to be a problem and will only get worse as technology continues to advance..
