Strengths of the proposed studyThis study aimed to support the hypothesis that sexually abused children are at greater risk of developing PTSD once they reach adulthood. I was able to offer an incentive that influenced people to want to take part in the study. I will administer this scale to evaluate a sample of 250 randomly selected individuals in a private clinical setting. This private setting allowed people to feel more comfortable participating in this study. The scale is a comprehensive structured interview used primarily for PTSD. In a series of psychometric studies the CAPS has been shown to be a reliable psychometric instrument based on analyzes of inter-rater reliability, test-retest reliability, and internal consistency (D. Blake, Klauminzer, Charney, Keane, & Buckley, 2000). . It is also true that the Clinical Administered PTSD Scale is the most accurate measure of PTSD compared to other structured interviews and PTSD self-report instruments. The questions asked in this interview were open-ended and gave participants the ability to expand their responses beyond the typical “yes” and “no” answers. The Clinical Administered PTSD Scale is a generalized scale, giving it an advantage over other scales in that it can be used on people regardless of age, race, gender, and ethnicity. Finally, the strength of this study was that I was able to find abundant information on child sexual abuse in relation to PTSD. Limitations of the Proposed Study One disadvantage of studying adults who were sexually abused as children is that it can be challenging to find people willing to talk openly about their past traumas, and......half of the paper...... ence, pp. 727-737.Martin, L.
