It seems that, at least in recent years, brain research has become a hot topic in scientific explorations, particularly multitasking. Multitasking has become increasingly significant in modern life because we live in a fast-paced world where people have to complete all the tasks they need to do within a limited time frame. In such a stressful life, it seems that multitasking is always beneficial if people have to find ways to accomplish all their tasks. However, can multitasking always save us from the tons of tasks we are assigned? Unfortunately, according to some results of authoritative methodical research, efficiency cannot always be guaranteed by multi-tasking and sometimes multitasking can even negatively influence people's productivity in carrying out their tasks. At this point one wonders why multitasking can sometimes negatively influence people's plans. To get the answer to this question, we need to take a look at how multitasking works in our brain system. Several researches have been conducted to study this topic, and as one of the pioneers, the UCLA psychology department has acquired some findings on this topic. In an article titled Does multitasking negatively affect the learning brain, Report by UCLA psychologists, UCLA specialists proved the fact using an experiment. The experiment was conducted using “functional magnetic resonance imaging (FMRI)” () to show brain exercise. During the experiment, participants were asked to make predictions about the shape of the cards. The cards have been divided into two different groups. With one set of cards, they learned without interruption while with another set of cards, they performed multi-tasking, which refers to listening to annoying... half of the paper... operation of different parts of our brain, while we can be damaged if we lose concentration on our tasks or if we excessively use technology in our studies. However, our attitude towards multitasking decides what role it plays in our lives. What we should do to increase the efficiency of multitasking is to learn to determine when is the right time to use it with the help of various scientific research results and discover our methods to avoid the shortcomings of multitasking. Don't always tell him no. It can definitely help people if they are put in the right place.
