Corporal Punishment Corporal punishment has been a part of family life for thousands of years, taking its place in societies around the world. From wooden switches to thick leather belts, all kinds of tools have been used to discipline naughty children. No one has ever really questioned whether this form of punishment is productive or counterproductive. In examining the situation, whether or not this form of punishment is justified or even if it can be considered correct, it is necessary to examine a sample situation. Let's say, for the sake of argument, that a little boy named Johnny just threw a tantrum and threw his bowl of Coco Crispies on the kitchen floor.
