Topic > Social Observation of Human Interactions - 1098

Using the observation method, a wide variety of behaviors can be recorded. Rummaging through rubbish on the side of the road can reveal the behaviors of fast food customers, or sitting for just an hour in the university canteen can understand gender differences in (dietary) meal choice, or even observing customer behavior in deciding which yoghurt to remove from supermarket shelves can also answer the question: are customers attracted by its appearance, flavour, price, brand or nutritional values? The purpose of this observation assignment is to evaluate and explain the different types of interactions between individuals and groups present, as well as the environment in which these interactions take place. The field observation was conducted at the Vietnamese fast-food restaurant called “We love Banhmi” in Budapest and the role adopted was that of an observer as a non-participant. Group structures, overall activity, behavior patterns, duration and timing of such behaviors and interactions were observed and recorded. Sociological concepts relating to age, gender and appearance were also noted and applied. The reason why "We love Banhmi" was chosen as an ideal viewing location is because of its location: very close to Astoria, thus making it accessible to local members. such as students, businessmen, travelers and visitors. Due to its reputation for traditional sandwiches and other tasty Vietnamese street foods along with the quick service process, the restaurant is becoming more and more popular and attracts customers from different cultural backgrounds who come to enjoy Vietnamese cuisine. No alcoholic beverages are sold here. It should also be a fairly cheap game... middle of paper... or a fun game. Within this family structure children learn the different power relationships between their parents, such that mom may become known as the disciplinarian, while dad may become another playmate. In addition to male physical dominance, economic superiority was shown whenever the male, whether it is the boyfriend in the intimate couple, or the father in the family, pays the bill, rather than the woman. During the hour and a half observation, a lot of data was collected and stored for further investigation. Gender roles and power/authority were the two sociological concepts observed and applied to the analysis of this particular study. The four types of groups examined were intimate couples, friends, singles and families. The field observation involved comparing the interactions of these different groups.
