INTRODUCTION I am required to write a report on an industrial sector of my professional area relevant to my study path. This report will be worth 20% towards the final result of my work experience. I will choose to write about computer network security for my professional relationship. In my report I will provide a description of the industry sector (computer network security) and name the range of occupations associated with it. I will also provide details on the qualifications and experience needed for the work associated with the occupation discussed in this report and explore the job and career opportunities present in this professional area. I will include a sample organization profile related to the professional relationship. I will also discuss the past, present, and future of computer network security. I will include a conclusion where I will summarize the main points discussed in this report and at the end I will have my references for this assignment. MAIN BODY (Part 1) What is computer network security? 2. Computer network security is basically the set of provisions and policies adopted by a network administrator or technician that blocks and monitors unauthorized access, misuse, modification or denial of a network informatics. Computer network security involves authorizing access to data in a network, controlled by the network administrator or technician. 1. If the security of a network is breached, there could be serious consequences such as invasion and loss of privacy and, above all, information theft. I learned a lot about the past, present and future of cybersecurity on the Internet, which I found very interesting. I found that profiling an example company gave me a good insight into the company. I found it very effective how they share their troubleshooting problems with each other as they share their knowledge of the troubleshooting problems they have encountered to date across their companies from different countries over a network and saved in a database . I found the future of cybersecurity on the Internet very intriguing. I found it interesting that there are other routes to gaining an internet cybersecurity qualification outside of college. For example, I could get a day job after completing my two year course in Cavan IT and I can also do a distance learning course from home.
