Language is a structured symbol used to communicate meaning. Persuasion is a type of language used by almost all contestants on the show. Persuasion is the process of getting people to think or act in a certain way. With people trying to make alliances, they have to convince people to make alliances so they don't vote them out. Also, at the end of the show, the last two contestants have to convince the jury to choose themselves to win the sole survivor and a million dollars. The people in the game must appeal to pathos, ethics and logos. Ethos refers to the trustworthiness and moral character of the interlocutors, respectively. Pathos is how you appeal to people's emotions, and logos is the listener's ability to reason. Reasoning about how people make judgments about the world based on evidence rather than emotion or intuition. Most of the time on the show they tend to use emotion rather than reasoning because they form bonds and sometimes that's possible
