Topic > Persuasive Essay on Same Sex Adoption - 677

Beliefs and morals in today's world have changed tremendously compared to decades ago. People were used to traditional families, that is, a woman and a man raising children together. If you were in a homosexual relationship you were frowned upon. But in today's world many people are becoming more and more willing to embrace different ideas of what a traditional family should be like. For example, gay couples are allowed to adopt. There have been many legal issues surrounding same-sex marriage and adoption in recent years. Of course, same-sex couples cannot produce in the same way a heterosexual couple could, and this is where this brings conflict. God created a man and a woman to love each other and to go hand in hand to reproduce. Many people have turned away from what the Bible says and have become increasingly involved in sinful ways. I think it's progressed a lot in the last few years thanks to social media, television and movies. People from all over the world see others becoming this way and make it seem acceptable to be this way. People are taking human rights a little too far and forgetting what is biblically right. However, there are 16 states that permanently allow joint gay adoptions (when a same-sex couple files a joint petition for adoption): Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, DC, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Vermont and Washington” (Facilitators). “Other states… middle of paper… child. Same-sex marriage is not accepted in the whole society, there will be parents who do not believe in it and will not allow their children to date your children, which will bring pain and confusion for your children. Other children will wonder and ask your children why you have two dads or two moms. Children are very impressionable, so obviously if a child has same-sex parents it will have a great influence on them. It is known that any trauma that happened in childhood can psychologically affect a person in his future. I respect same-sex couples and don't judge, but I think all children should have a mother and a father. I know there are many children who need a good home and that's the only reason why it might be a good idea, but placing a child in just any family isn't right either, the child needs a stable family.
