Should communities be notified of suspected child molesters? Every thirty minutes another child is abducted, whether from home, school or neighborhood playgrounds. Imagine that in the next thirty minutes it is your child. Now also try to imagine that your child's kidnapper lived in your unknown community. These intruders feel they have the right to invade the privacy of these citizens and commit horrific crimes such as kidnapping, rape, and murder. Therefore, it would be better for communities to be made aware of alleged child molesters so that citizens can be aware of the acts of crimes that may occur, molesters would be more deterred from committing these acts and a safer community could be created. Acts of crimes such as rape, murder and kidnapping can be prevented by making the community aware of the existence of such criminals living in their community. By having citizens more aware of the situation, they could prevent such acts from happening. Parents could actually talk to their children and explain to them what to look out for. There are also many awareness groups that parents could join to learn more about who is in their community.
