Of the 4 noble truths, 'The origin of suffering is attachment' is the one that I find most significant for young people in Malaysia today because young people now have many desires which some of should be circumvented. The attachment to these desires has led many young people today to suffer mentally and physically, forcing them to voluntarily sacrifice their time and energy, for example by working extra shifts or finding an extra job just to earn an extra salary and be able to obtain something that they want. . If severe, having these cravings would gradually lead to them suffering from diseases. For example, feeling mentally and physically exhausted due to the extra work they are expected to do could make them prone to health problems due to the lack of nutrients in their diet. Despite the recognized predisposition to health problems, young people are still willing to face these sufferings in order to save money to achieve their goal.
