My educational philosophy is defined in becoming a teacher as a set of ideas and beliefs about education that guide the professional behavior of educators. Also included in educational philosophy are one's beliefs about teaching and learning, about students, about knowledge, and about what is worth knowing. My five overarching goals for philosophy of education are: set plan goals, teach useful and relevant information, be aware of student learning styles, model positive cooperative behaviors, look for solutions, and make sure those solutions work. I believe that teaching and learning is both a science and an art, which requires the implementation of already determined rules. I see learning as the result of forces internal to the student. I know that children differ in how they learn and grow, but I also know that all children can learn. Greater student understanding of their own experience is a legitimate form of knowledge.
